The North of La Palma is popular with nature lovers and walkers who want to get away from it all and live in the countryside and away from the tourist areas. The weather is almost always good in the summer, and mostly in the winter but there can be cloud and sometimes rain, usually for short periods and not all day. There is seldom a day without sun, even if it's 'only' a spectacular sunset.
The area is ideal for exploring the unspoilt rural and forest areas of the north coast, with many deep ravines and mountain slopes reaching from the steep sea cliffs to the top of the island at 2545 metres.
