The west side of the island between Tazacorte and Puerto Naos and up to Los Llanos and El Paso is called The Valley, and is known for its sun and warm temperatures throughout the year. On the coast the temperatures are usually between 20C en 25C in the winter and 20C en 32C in the summer months. The night temperatures seldom fall below 18C. In the summer the temperatures seldom rise above 35C. Above Los Llanos and in El Paso the day temperatures are slightly lower and in the winter the nights can be cool.
The valley is also the busiest and most populated part of the island. In the lower areas there are no forests only cactus, banana plantations and cultivated gardens. There is a wide assortment of accommodation, many restaurants and shops and you are never far from the beaches at Puerto Naos and Tazacorte. It is a fair distance to the natural beauty and walking routes of La Palma. |
